I haven't removed the bulb, I have to go the mechanic and remove the angel eye bulb since no access to change it from the engine bay. Sent from my iPhone using Bimmerfest. A. My first guess would be a module (MULF So it seems that BMW cars manufactured after Sept 2007 with iDrive work. Cars with bluetooth and no iDrive work. Cars pre Sept 2007 with iDrive regardless of iDrive / BT SW version do not work. I apologise if I am incorrect, hence a summary would be useful. Thanks Touch idrive controller from late 2013 and up (larger knob) with 4 pin bottom connector. Non touch idrive controller has the same 4 pin bottom connector. So if you swap it out with touch idrive, it will work but without touch feature if you do not add items below. However, after that it's a hit or miss shot if it comes back on. Sometimes it will sometimes it won't. When it won't, the screen will still flash the BMW letters before shutting off and restarting. Here’s the exact symptoms. -iDrive screen is completely dead. Will never turn on after starting the car. -I can hear a small fan keep spinning behind the DVD,CD even after switching off the ignition. (This drain out the car battery…I removed fuse# 31 to stop the fan running) -DVD, and CD won’t eject. Recently purchased a used 2004 645ci convertible and the idrive screen is completely blank as well as the nob being loose. The radio does not work but I am able to hear the dings that sound through the speaker as warnings such as low gas appears on my main dashboard. Would I need to replace the ccc unit or is there some sort of reprogramming press the ‘Volume up’ button, press the ‘Volume down’ button and hold the ‘Wake’ button for a few seconds. or. hold the ‘Wake’ button along with the ‘Home’ button together until the screen goes blank.
