I have a campervan based on a Fiat Ducato chassis but cannot find agreement on what engine oil to use in it. It is a 2017, 2.3 Multijet 2 150 (NOT stop and start !). Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks. Bill
The benefits. In the case of the Fiat Ducato 160 Multijet 160hp engine, our ECU remapping file is tailored for more power and torque, reduced fuel consumption, smoother acceleration and improved throttle response. By optimising the torque curve the Fiat Ducato 160 Multijet 160hp engine produces more torque at lower RPM.

In comes a new family of 2.2L engines bearing the name Multijet 3 for use by all three brands. They range in maximum power outputs from 140bhp to 180bhp when hooked up to the nine-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Ignore the fact that this is a slightly smaller engine under the bonnet of the Ducato than the one it replaces.
Being a twin of the Ducato, it has comparable benefits. Well set-up suspension makes it feel less like a commercial vehicle, and a range of impressive diesel engines brings refined performance plus respectable emissions and efficiency figures. However, some owners have reported issues with reverse gear vibration, as with the Fiat Ducato base
I believe I have 130 BHP and I am beginning to weaken and am thinking about a Re map to 150bhp to give me a bit more power on hills. My concern is the Fiat's Achilles heel, the gearbox and clutch. My Previous 2009 Ducato gearbox gave up at twenty five thousand miles. The syncro went and I had to get the gearbox rebuilt by Fiat.
The top-of-the-range 3.0-litre 180bhp engine has also been replaced by a new 180bhp 2.3-litre MultiJet II Power LPEGR, which returns 46.3mpg on the official combined cycle and has CO 2 emissions of 160g/k). The core 2.3-litre MultiJet 130hp and 150hp engines remain but also adopt Fiat's LPEGR technology to ensure Euro VI compliance.
